We collaborate with fifty renowned partners located in over 28 different countries. Our goal is twofold:

  • To collaborate with the best research teams worldwide to improve the scientific scope of our work. For example, for 4 years we coordinated (2011-2015) with the COST Action INFOGEST, which brought together nearly 350 scientists from 130 institutes in 37 countries (Europe, North and South America, Oceania). This Action is always active (see news).
  • To help foreign partners to develop training and research programs in our fields of expertise. For example, the “Association Maghrébine sur la Sécurité Sanitaire des Aliments” (Maghreb Association for Food Safety) was created as a joint initiative after we organized 4 symposiums in various Maghreb countries (2010 – 2014). We created and organised in 2014 the 1st International meeting on Milk, Vector of development at Rennes. The 2nd edition held at Rabat - Morocco in 2017 and the next meeting will be at Dakar- Senegal in 2019.

Almost half of our publications are co-authored with foreign colleagues (44% in 2016)

50% of our PhD students come from foreign countries, and 9 are now under joint supervision to obtain both a French PhD degree and one from their own country.

Strong interactions have existed for 20 years with Brazilian teams (Federal University of Viçosa, Federal University of Minas Gerais), which include regular student exchanges. Moreover, Y. Le Loir and P. Shuck obtained a “Special Visiting Researcher” project with Brazilian research groups as part of the Science Without Borders program 2013-2016). Read more in our recent news from July and March 2015.

Specific agreements were recently signed with China to contribute to the development of dairy research, namely at the Soochow University, where R. Jeantet is now associate professor.
