New research scientist in the lab

Florent Murat joined the laboratory on January 1, 2022. Florent will pursue his work in the field of evolutionary genomics and reproductive biology in fish.

Florent Murat

After an Engineer's degree in genomics and bioinformatics (2009), he performed his PhD research (2009-2016) at INRAE (Clermont-Ferrand, France) where he mainly worked on plant genome evolution. Then, in order to get a broader vision of the molecular bases of phenotypic evolution, he performed his postdoctoral training (2017-2021) at Heidelberg University (Germany) in the lab of Prof. Dr. Henrik Kaessmann where he led a research project on the molecular evolution of spermatogenesis in mammals at the single-cell level. Recently, he joined the lab (Sex, oogenesis, and behavior team) as a Research Scientist (CRCN) where he is going to pursue his work on evolutionary genomics and reproductive biology in fish.
